The weather is “confusing”... And to sea lovers: pay attention!
Fady Mahouly
The Estimates Department at the Meteorological Department in the General Directorate of Civil Aviation expected that Lebanon would be dominated by mild spring weather with some local fluctuations due to the flow of relatively cold air masses into the eastern basin of the Mediterranean.
A warning of rising sea waves and the formation of water currents on Friday and Saturday, especially on the northern beaches.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Wednesday: Partly cloudy to partly cloudy with fog in the middle highlands, with no significant change in temperatures on the coast, while they rise significantly in the mountains and inland, exceeding their seasonal rates, then gradually decrease starting in the afternoon in the northern mountains, so that the weather becomes prepared for occasional light rain.
Thursday: Partly cloudy to partly cloudy, with local fog in the highlands, a slight rise in temperatures on the coast, and a significant decrease in the mountains and inland, and the winds are active at times.
Friday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with an additional drop in temperatures in the mountains and inland, which become below their seasonal averages. Fog forms on the highlands, winds become active, reaching speeds of up to 55 km/hour, and sea waves rise to about two meters in the north of the country. Scattered light rain is expected to fall, especially on the southern mountains.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with fog in the highlands and a slight rise in temperatures. Some scattered light rain is expected to fall at times, especially in the interior areas, starting in the afternoon.
